My interpretation of Brigid is thinly guised as the Saint, but her true Goddess roots and legends are what intrigue me most. ‘Patroness of healing, poetry and smithcraft’, ‘Spring Maiden’, ‘Warrior Maiden’ the ‘Great Mother’, ‘quester of the underworld’ and ‘keeper of cosmic bees’. Whichever title you choose, she’s pretty epic. Imbolc celebrates the astronomical midpoint between the winter solstice and spring equinox. I lost myself in the details, hankering over intergalactic nectar……which is why creative process and making is such a divine portal to other strange and beautiful realms of the universe.
